Heft is local-first. It runs entirely on your Mac, and YREH Studio runs no servers for it. The app opens files you choose and processes them in memory on your device — your data never leaves your machine. The only times Heft talks to the network are a license check and, for purchases, payment — both described below.

Who we are

Your data stays on your device

Heft opens the CSV, TSV, and log files you choose and reads them memory-mapped, building views in memory on your Mac. We operate no backend, no accounts, and no cloud sync — nothing you open is ever uploaded. We collect no analytics and no telemetry: the app does not phone home, and there is nothing for us to see.

What we don't collect

• No analytics, usage tracking, crash telemetry, or advertising identifiers.
• No copies of your files or their contents.
• No payment card details (see Payments below).

License validation

To validate your license, the app sends your license key and a generated machine fingerprint to our licensing provider, Keygen, to node-lock the license to your Mac. After a successful check it keeps working offline for a 14-day grace period. These requests carry no file content — only the key and fingerprint. See Keygen's privacy policy.

Payments

Purchases are processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record, which collects the billing details needed to take payment and remit tax. We receive your email to deliver your license key. We never see your full card details.

Email

We use your email to send your license key and respond to support. We don't sell it.

What's stored locally, and how to delete it

Heft keeps your license and app settings on your Mac, in ~/Library/Application Support/Heft/ — never on our servers. Deleting that folder removes all local app data, including your stored license.

Your rights

Contact heft@yreh.com to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold (your email and purchase record).
